OK – Here is the situation…. got a RS1DCNS (more than two years ago) and same as a million other people got the knocking sound and since then have read extensively about this fridge.
As advised, took apart and defrosted, put back together. Then every six days, the would start overheating, due to ice build-up. Following advice on this website (in this item) I replaced the DA97-00092S – Samsung Evaporator Cover and the Defrost Sensor – I think the other item advised in the article was not available. Both of the items I replaced were older spec components (cover without added bits of metal and sensor was white).
Anyway. I replaced the items and lo and behold happening with the same frequency, I have got the same problem. I was advised to enquire on this forum as to my next steps… so I have pressed the two top buttons and got the middle bar of the right hand eight lit – which is from what I read a defrost error.
So based on this information, can anyone tell me if there is yet another component that needs replacing – and if so, the true likelihood of it working, or whether I should launch this back to South Korea???
Any advice on this matter greatly appreciated

your defrost heaters faulty, use ur head, if uve been reading properly, instead of jumping the gun, you’d have read that
not the easiest of jobs, not available as a spare part, comes as part of the evaporator, which also includes the sensor and thermal fuse, all of which should be changed at the same time (the heater does come off the evaporator with a bit of effort)
more than likeley available as a spare part from uk whitegoods online store, certainly r600 can supply u with one
