ModeratorWell I did anyway. :rolls:
Called this morning to a punter with a Hotpoint WF540 just over 3 years old.
Apparently the bearings failed and he went down to a local (Moston) washer shop with the model number asking for advice. They had the decency to tell him the machine was crap then sold him a drum rear half for £90.00.He fitted this and when he tried the machine, water poured out and the lights started to flash.
He has only gone and fitted a 30mm drum & shaft into a 35mm 1603409 rear half. 😯 😆
Water peed all over module, machine now BER.
I asked him why he didn’t take advantage of his five year parts guarantee and he said he didn’t know about it.
Just to make him feel even more of a Wassock I pointed out the large, blue, A5 sized label stuck on the side that said ‘Free five year parts’.
Just a bit naughty or careless to sell him the wrong part but he did seem like one of those people who knew everything. 😥

Not for me, full days work ahead.
On a similar note, I went to a customer two weeks ago to find his LG Dw needed a new circ pump. Quoted him £90 for the pump + fitting.
Got a call back a week later to say he’d sourced the pump much cheaper off the net and would I go back and fix it? I didn’t really want to, but the office insisted so I went back and discovered this ‘much cheaper pump’ was in fact the drain pump…. you really do have to laugh 🙂
