Dave your test obviously works the only way to reply is to start another thread on the topic mentioned in the locked thread but there is no way to reply to the locked thread within the thread itself.

Congratulations on finding this very useful feature. It is an execelent way to stop the plonkers relpying to the sticky’s and to stop people buggering and cluttering up instruction post’s or any other item we wish to broardcast rather than enter into a debate over.

This is a feature that I specifically asked Ken about just this week either he’s mentioned it to you or there is telepathy at play here.

I thought you all knew what a locked thread was, I’ve told Martin et all in the past to do that in the mods forum I’m sure.

Yep, they all do know what a locked thread is, I was testing something.

As in, can mod’s reply to locked threads ?

It seems they can’t if Sean can’t but I can (possibly as I started the thread or because I’m admin) and Ken can as he’s God admin.

Sean, I’ve just manually made you a moderator of this forum, try and reply to my other thread now please 🙂

    Dave.

OK, deleted the sticky now so I know what can be done.

My reason for this was that I thought it may be a good idea to post daily reports on missed repairs@ jobs, making it easier to digest for the onlookers.

I can do it daily no problem, but the reason for the “test” was if I’m away for a day/on holiday or whatever another mod can reply to a locked thread and keep it updated as long as they have mod rights to that particular forum.

It would mean clearing the log every day as well, which may be a PITA.

    Thoughts ?

    Dave.
