ParticipantDHL delivery this morning. I met him at the back of the van to stop the dog barking and since I was already on the driveway. Can you go back to your house I need to give it you there’ 😯 …eh……’could you go back’…
So I jokingly went back and stood on the step.
‘Er no, can you go back inside the house’.
At this point I know the guy is taking the P as he has delivered to me at least once a week for the last four years.
So I went to the back of the house, in the back door and through to the front where he was waiting for me, muttering something about company rules and that he is now doing everything by the book…..
This prat has been hammering on my door at 8 every morning for years now and still asks what my surname is everytime I sign for something :rolls: :rolls:TC

Obviously doesn’t like his job,but why should he take it out on the customers?
I regularly have deliveries by DHL and often try to pick up the parcel wherever i can catch the delivery driver.
The drivers seem to be more accomadating where i live,it must be to there advantage, if i collect the parcel on there round it saves them time.
As you obviously know the driver and he has been delivering to you for some time i don’t quite understand his behavior, but i think that there has been some kind of takeover or amalgamation within DHL and maybe he has some qualms about this.

When I order from Connect I put on the address bar “if out leave at front door” and they do. No problems and saves me not getting a delivery. Mind you I was in when the last driver, a relief, reversed into a neighbours wall, split the brickwork and did a quick runner leaving door stops and a rear light in the drive…….but they’re gonna get him 😈

Actually they’re not taking the Mick.
BY LAW Royal Mail are not allowed to leave a package or letter in an outbuilding, under a mat, in a porch or anything else, it must go through the letterbox and they are most certainly not allowed to hand mail to anyone unless they open the door of the dwelling. That’s it, end of discussion.
Courier companies operate a similar way, albeit without the actual legal constraints.
They will, generally, only leave at an alternative address after much faffing about.
They won’t leave a packet unsigned for without prior arrangements and, they will deny any and all liability for damage if they do it for you.
The reason is very simple, they are responsible for the goods or information and are open to claims until the package is delivered to the correct address and, to the correct person.
Most posties or delivery drivers are brand new if you get to know them but there are some that are jobs worths. And, if they’ve had hassle over it for something that went wrong… well, we know what we’re like when something travels South.

My regular DHL driver is great. Can practically set the clock by him, and if I’m out he knows where to put it safe. Trouble is he sometimes has to have a day off and then I’m lucky if I see the parcel till he returns.
I’m working on the postmen. Managed to catch the Monday guy and sort it with him but the other bloke’s away so fast I only catch him when he wakes me out of bed to open the door. Then I’m too half awake to remember.
