customer has electric gates please call them when you arrive .
now if i hadnt already seen what the appliances was – i would be thinking ooow electric gates must be a high end unit ?
sadly is a currys essentials , still i will be intrigued to the mindset of these customers ..
normaly high end motors – farm conversion etc .
but you do have to laugh .. ive always wanted to do a quiz on here where the engineer takes a photo of the property and the rest of us guess the appliance .
fan but probaly wouldnt be allowed .

In my experience, one of the main reasons some of these people have their nice houses and cars, is because they cut costs wherever possible on “essential” items, white goods etc and blow the rest on luxuries!

Met one today, I wrote off her cheap slimline integrated dishwasher. “We’ll manage,” she said, “we’re away in Gran Canaria from tomorrow for Christmas and the New Year.”

Cost me over 2 grand for one week B&B in Costa Adeje, Tenerife last month. Never wanted to go somewhere even colder than the UK for a holiday TBH.

😥 The point I was trying to make is that not every holiday in the Canaries is cheap, just the same as not every skiing holiday is expensive. 😉

i called the guy when i was half a mile away – he says call me when your at the gate i will open , i says why not just open them just now im only 1 minute away. and i cant see to many peasants wondering around
gates werent that great as they didnt open automatically when you drive out these ones had to be manually opened with a remote –
so yesterday i muttered .all the new ones are done by mobile phone apps but i didnt want to get into with them.
ps the house was stunning old country mansion , so 10 out 10 for house
7/10 for gates , 2 /10 for applianceDecember 22, 2013 at 2:49 pm #406334Martin

The staff entrance to the Duke of Wellington’s mansion is via the public entrance to the church on the estate. The ‘private’ driveway leads to an electric security gate/barrier. The keypad/telephone to operate the barrier often doesn’t work but on the house side of the gate is a metal ‘Road Closed’ sign that lies in the ditch. Staff walk round the electric gate, grab the road closed sign and carry it from one side of the road to the other. Then throw it into the other ditch. The metal detector in the road senses the metal and that triggers the gate to open. Enough time to walk back to your van and drive through!

The dutch embassy in Kensington London doesn’t have electric gates.
Eric Claptons yacht didn’t have any either.
Antonio Bandera’s neighbours did and armed guards before.
La Zagaleta estate in Marbella has ANPI number plate recognition, armed guards escorting you to the private villas electronic gates watched over with peeps in dark glasses and large pecs.
