Can anyone give us the tech details or manual for this machine please?…..

    Zanussi ZX99/5W Prod. 928405932

The original problem was that the customer cleaned the fridge (!) which meant the lights were on for an extended period resulting in a lamp blowing. This took out both the power board (blown to bits) and the display board (all lights on but no function). On replacing these the machine fired up normally for about 3 secs then went completely dead 😕 There is a satisfactory 240v supply and no earth faults present so i’m inclined to think one of the new boards itself is faulty?

    Any help appreciated.

    Hi Clive
Have you checked out the start relay and overload? Had a blown power board on one of these myself caused by a problem with this.

    Update….

Yes the new power board was faulty 👿

Another board worked correctly….it showed up an O/C evap themistor with a fault code quite nicely 👿 👿

Result….4 visits, 2 faulty power boards, 1 faulty display board, 1 faulty thermistor meaning it’s a write-off and one hell of a p***ed off engineer….all for a lamp failure! 😥

The only good news is the customer is going to buy a new one from us pfttt

Not sure if u know but this model will run the compressor for a few seconds when plugged in then goes into a short defrost mode where it seems to do nothing for 20 mins or so….

Yes indeed chuffer, although this can be over-ridden in the service mode 😉
