ParticipantIts jobs like these that make me want to pack this game in, it really is 👿 Fitted new bearings to this thing yesterday, actual job went fine, shaft was good, nothing unexpected cropped up… nothing till i came to give it a quick test that is 😯
Pressed the on/off button, power light goes on, door locks….. and thats yer lot 🙁
Shortly after, the thing starts high pitched beeping & sits there doing it till its switched off. The prog & options lights & buttons do not respond at all & nor does the start or skip buttons. All i did for the bearing job was remove the usual heater & motor wires & the hoses etc, im 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure i caused no collateral damage during this.
Checked every connection going to the main PCB & also the troublesome connections tween facia & main board but no joy.Customer SWEARS machine was working normally before (but of course :rolls: ) Wish now i had tested it before i touched it, but obviously i just opened the door & gave the drum a whirl…as ye do.Shes now talking about getting a new machine & not expecting a bill from me of course. 🙁
So i dunno, seems like a main board fault to me, i had changed a very burnt out interlock on the thing about 18 months ago.. maybe its decided its had enough.Any ideas chaps ❓
Thanks
Eddie.

Hi.
Have you tried the diagnostic?

Had similar thing on older model once after a bearing job which had been a struggle from beginning to end. Turned out I’d dislodged a connector on the module – but that was when the module was down at the back. Took a bit of poring over circuit diagram to know where to look; though I knew for sure it had been OK before.
TBH, I think you must give customer the full benefit of the doubt. It’s unlikely she would have neglected to tell you that it wasn’t powering up. And therefore, I stongly doubt that the board is faulty. How about pump plug pulled out?

Mike. Not a bad shout from Mike there Eddie! 😉
These machines start beeping like a baby without it’s dummy should any wires not be connected. And being as the most likely in that category are the motor, heater and pump wires then it’s worth triple checking. 🙂
P.S You were up late last night Mike, trouble sleeping? 😯

Cheers for the responses chaps, its just the way that it was not responding to ANY button apart from the actual on/off one (which of course is a simple mechanical switch) that made me think its got a major fault, cant run any diagnostics.
But hey, worth another look i guess, now i’ve calmed down 🙂 logic would certainly suggest its something i’ve done.. 😯 although i did take the back off again & check motor & heater connections.. not the pump mind you. oh well, ta ta £90 if i cant find it. 🙁
Eddie.
