    Hi there.

    I have had this old beast for a fair few years so far but the noise is getting unbearable.

    I have replaced the felt bearing and the small rear bearing with no joy – the machine is still making an excessively loud rumble, loud enough to make conversation in the room impossible when the machine is on.

    Is there a main bearing for this machine that can be replaced. Is it repairable or is it time to send it for scrap?

    Hi.

    My money would be that the fan that is bolted onto the motor shaft has worn out.
