ParticipantZanussi Jetsystem Excel 1250
Mod#: WJS 1397WHaving fun with the washing cycles. New baby = loads and loads of nappies to wash, so of course the machine starts playing up.
Starts okay on a B, C or D cycle (probably others as well but don’t use them so don’t know), but as the program moves on it sticks when the dial gets to F. Sometimes it sticks for a short time and carries on, sometimes sticks and goes no further; sometimes it doesn’t stick at all. The machine is still running and you can hear what sounds like a pump working. If you move it on 1 click it then carries on and completes normally with no obvious corruption -wash finishes rinsed and spun just dandy.
I’m happy enough to cut it open and fix it, too long owning a Land-Rover to be squeamish, but have no idea where to start, whether its a hammer or a plunger job, and can’t be without a washing machine for long or the nappies will start to back up.
Any suggestions?

Possibilities:
Timer not advancing due to worn drive at specific point in programme.
However……..
Timer advances when digital control board tells it to – it may not.I can’t think of a safe or practical way for you to identify which one may be at fault as it involves live testing.
I’m afraid it’s not the big Meccano kit that the Landy is……….
Check the link below for an engineer in your area. Power off if you are going to investigate further.

ParticipantCheers – think I’ll go for the safer option of getting the pro’s in – can’t be doing with all that elastick trickery stuff!

Sounds to me like the sump hose from the tub to the pump is restricted/blocked with debris? That explains the intermittent nature of the fault 😉

ParticipantQuite likely seeing as we’re washing aprx 12 towelling nappies a day. Is this sump hose something I can get at with a hammer?
