Zanussi ZWF1621W Fills and runs through wash ,drains the hot water then stops.About every 5 mins it will burst into full spin for about 2 seconds .Had a couple of these with the same problem,they stop and go into a short mad spin.

Have you done a search on that model no? Similar symptoms have been discussed.
Probably teaching granny to suck here. Usually brushes or a dicky armature, ohm meter across the brushes (analogue is best) and turn the armature very, very slowly, there should be no discernable deflection of the needle on the meter
