Zanussi Aqua 1250 intermittent spin

😕 Machine drains OK but refuses to spin. Tried assisting the drum with the lid off to no avail. Whats odd, if I lay machine on its side and stand it up again, it seems to be OK for a couple of washes.

Probably to do with sludge in the water level control system. Am unable to advise more accurately without the model number. Please don’t try and push start the motor – you may well lose your fingers.

Aqua 1250 isn’t the model number I’m afraid.

Check inside the door on the rating plate 😉

Thanks. This machine uses two separate water level (or pressure) switches, which are operated by the displacement of air. One is fed from an air chamber mounted on the side of the tub to filter box hose, the other from a chamber on the top of the filter box itself. Either or both are prone to choking with debris thus restricting the air flow. They will probably need stripping and thoroughly cleaning.

Power off if you’re going to have a go yourself. :plug:
