This much I do know because I’ve been able to take the top off and fish it out from the bottom of the machine.

    But..

How do I get the side panel off to get a look under the drum to refit the belt or replace it.

I’d be grateful for any help you can provide ?

There are several 8mm Hex screws that hold the rear cabinet half in place. These have to be removed to gain clear access to the drum pulley. If you are the least bit unsure and need expert help, then click the link below 😀

    Thanks Martin

I’ve got the cover off. Tis easy when you know how.

The seemingly intact belt I fished out earlier seems to be about 4/5ths of its original width. The rest is wrapped around the pulley spindle.

Are these belts easy to get hold of on a Saturday ?

I live in Birmingham which is a tad few miles away from Berkshire.

I’m going to cut the shreds away and clean up the inside of the machine with a hoover.

I think you’ll find a shop open in Brum, make sure they supply the correct belt size (like for like) and make sure it is a special s-t-r-e-t-c-h belt (MAEL type) as well 😉
