Zanussi Aquacycle 1400 – Start / Pause light flashing

Fairly old washer. Switched it on to do a wash, set the programme. Door lock light goes on, but doesn’t wash and Start/pause light flashes. Skip button works (cancels programme lights) and start/pause buttin beeps, but can’t get anything else to happen. Have powered off, opened door etc.

Sounds terminal ? Any ideas ?

Lost the manual and can’t find anywhere to download it from. Zanussi site is rather less than helpful

Fiddled with the Zanussi site and managed to download the standard user manual. Suggests that the inlet filter might be blocked (doubt it as this is a sudden problem). Anyway, took the hose off the back of the washer and the fliter looks clean (should it come out for cleaning ?).

Sorry – let me put some more detail on this.

When I switch the washer on, none of the programme lights show up. They can then be set by repeated pushing of the buttons. As soon as I push any of the buttons, the pause light starts flashing.

Did you manage to get this sorted, I have exactly the same problem with teh same machine..
I’ve tried everything.
I had to force the door open to get my washing out.
I have found if you hold down teh start and skip buttins then turn it on the lights go through a blinking sequence, as if resetting, but it hasn’t changed anything.
Would love to know if you’ve fixed it.

Has the drain filter been checked. If not, check & clear as per instruction manual & re test.

Sounds like faulty door interlock. Power off. Remove ring round door gasket. Unscrew front screws holding interlock in place. Pull back gasket and remove from wiring and replace.

I have just re read the previous post where it says:

That is you entering the diagnostic which if you don’t know what you are doing is a very bad idea as it is possible for you to change the configuration code which is a 16 digit hexadecimal code. If you have managed to do that your machine will not work until it is corrected.

Mine is working again now, left it over christmas and it works.
Looks like i didin’t manage to change the hexadecimal code! luckiliy!

I’m going to buy a door lock just in case it happens again as our clothes were looked in for quite some time!
