ParticipantHi all: Customer reported that machine stopped went to end of cycle without spinning, now pump runs continually on any programme. So i’m thinking a pressure system fault making the machine think it already has water in. Went to see it today but couldn’t get at it cause it’s stuck in the corner of a very damp outside shed which is full. (Surprise Surprise)
Going back friday to hopefully repair it, my question is this: is the pressure bottle mounted underneath on this machine? & if needed does anyone have a manual?.
Thanks in advance:Andy 😕March 2, 2009 at 7:55 pm #278930Penguin45

Hi Chris: PNC number: 914791320, this is the only number I can find on the machine.

That could be very significant. If you can get at it see if the motor is damp and try a sqirt of WD40 on the brush holders if so.

Hi Guys: Just to finish this thread off, I went out to the machine today, put it through the diagnostic cycle and got E33: Pressure switch incongruence. Checked the switch & found 1st level switch closed and anti boil open, checked for blockages, duff heater etc but no faults just simple pressure switch fault. Gave the customer a price of £60 to repair machine & got told don’t bother we will buy a new one. 😡
I just love customers like this (not), scrap an otherwise good machine for the sake of £60.
Anyway Guys thanks for the info & Thanks again for the Manual Chris,

Dumb people want to buy a brand new machine and stick it in a damp shed! Think they’re heading for more problems there; hope Indesit, Haier, Beko etc. have got clauses in their warranties against damage caused by externally sourced damp.

Hi Mike: It gets worse than that, when I did a loop test on the socket in the shed I got a reading of over 50 ohms & this from a TNS supply.
When I started checking i discovered that the socket was wired as an extension on a length of 1mm flex which is plugged into a socket in the living room & is just left lying across the yard in the wet and under a pile of rubbish into this extension they have another 2×4 ways they run a Fridge freezer, on this continually & then expect to run a Tumble drier & Washing machine on it as well, you can imagine my language when they asked why the fuse in the inside plug blows regularly.

I think I would have told them it just isn’t safe to run a machine like that and that I wouldn’t want the responsibility of repairing it until the electrics were properly sorted. I mean, in the worst case scenario would your PLI cover you?
