    Hiyas,
What I know about microwaves can be written in large print on the back of a postage stamp. (Hmmm, should that not be, what I know can be written………)
Anyways, have got this combination microwave, model ZMB32CTX, prod no. 94602112. When using the microwave it makes a “banging” noise from the magnetron area. Have changed the magnetron but still the same.
I’m gonna ask a daft question here, could a faulty turntable motor cause this? Reason I ask is there was a flash from the turntable (inside the cavity) when trying it out this morning although the turntable appears to rotate ok.
Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Brian

I take it the banging fault only occurs when using the ‘microwave’ side of the appliance, in which case must be a fault on the high voltage side. Possibly the transformer not having a consistent output or else faulty capacitor. Mark

Thanks Mark, makes sense, even to me. 😛

P.S. Ensure you DISCHARGE capacitor BEFORE you attempt any testing / replacing. M

Ah, now that’s the one thing I do know about microwaves. Learned it the hard (daft?) way. 😳

    Thanks
