KeymasterHi, I’ve got a Zanussi TCE7276W condenser drier which is now 14 months old. Until now I’ve been pleased with it, but now it seems like the start button doesn’t work. Everything else seems to be Ok, except the start LED flashes and the 3 above it (Drying, cooling, end are all on together. I took the lid and front control panel off to see if there was anything obvious and in the hope that the very act of doing so and reassembling it would make the problem go away, however no such luck. There is just a surface mount PCB, the surface munt switch eems to function OK, I was hoping it wasn’t so that I’d know hat the problem was, as I’m quite capable of replacing components. I guess the most likely solution is to source and replace the entire board, but before I do, is there another possibility that I’m missing?
How much is a replacement PCB likely to cost me?
Any help greatly appreciated.February 5, 2005 at 5:31 pm #125164Martin

Romarj,
In the ‘Time Display’ window, does your machine not come up with an ‘Error Code’ I wonder?

It’s possibly the PCB although I would recommend all other possibilities are checkes first.
If you want a price on it, could you let me have the Product code
(PNC) beginning 916??? from the rating plate please Romarj as there are a few versions. Please pull the plug if checking further.
Dave.

romarj,
I would recommend calling out an engineer to check it for you. There is a set procedure for checking the functions in order to establish the fault and this can only be achieved by calling in the experts.
Go to our repairs@ to see if we have an engineer in your area that can take a look. It may well be a minor fault all the while after all 😉

We have the same problem and surprise surprise ours is just out of warranty too!
We called a local supplier who checked the machine and has declared the circuit board dead. Total cost of replacement £134.90!!!
You can guess Zanussi won’t be on our shopping list this time.

ParticipantIf appliances are under 15 months old Zanussi will generally authorise a Service Force engineer to call and Zanussi will pay for the parts. If you are persistant the labour costs too.
