    Hello,
My zanussi condenser dryer, (autosense, 7kg reverse action drying, model number ZDC47 200WW) is around five years old.

Was working fine and recently will only work if I put one or two lightweight items in it. Even then, it may not start working immediately when I press the start button, and might spontaneously start up five or ten minutes later.

I’ve cleaned out all the accessible bits at the front of the machine, but still no joy.

Any ideas on what the problem might be?

    Many thanks,

    Mary

    Hi Mary,

For anyone to even look at the configuration of that dryer they will need the PNC or product code from the rating plate inside the door as there are no less than 25 variants of that model.

Sounds like the motor start capacitor is goosed

If it is the motor start capacitor, is that easy for difficult to fix?

    All the best

    Mary

Hi again Mary, motor start capacitor is mounted beside the motor, quite easy to replace, side panel has to come off, after taking top off.
    Power off of course.

Part number is 1250020334 for capacitor.
