Zanussi Condenser Dryer – TC 485 W – Drum not turning

All,
The drum on our Zanussi Condenser Dryer has decided to stop turning after 8 long years of service.
Fixable. Any ideas anyone?

If you can hear the motor whirring away, the belt will have failed – fixable.
If you can only hear a faint humming noise, the start/run capacitor will have failed – also fixable.

There may be other possibilities………

Power off if you intend to investigate this yourself.

Its difficult to tell what noise is there as when the heat begins its very noisy.

Heat means that the motor’s running……. so……… belt.
