I have a Zanussi TC 7103S condensing tumble dryer.

A fault has developed. When I switch on it appears to work OK, but after a bit the light comes on indicating the water tank is full; but the tank is completely empty, and water is flowing on the floor underneath the machine. I have looked where the water tank should clips in at the back of its compartment and have recovered a loose spring.

Having looked for some spares I have found a part called a spring valve. Is this the part which is likely to have failed?

Also it looks like the area at the back of the water tank compartment would be reasonably accessible if I were to turn the machine up side down. Is this a good idea, or is there anything I should worry about before attempting this?

as you plug the tank in there are 2 valves.

1 in the tank to stop it leaking when removed

2 in the base of the machine to stop the remaining water leak when the tank is removed

sound like this valve is faulty. if it does not open the machine fills with water till a float lifts and stops it turning on the full lamp

if you turn it over the water in the sump may get where it should not be

Lie it on its back, two minutes of a job then. 😉
