This 20 year old dishwasher has started to give a few problems recently. The latest was a loud pop whilst running that on investigation was the suppressor.
The earth lead from this three wire suppressor had worked its way off the earth spade, so sat on spade but not properly connected; perhaps this caused the problem?
Machine carried on running without issue apart from a whiff of burning from the blown suppressor which soon dissipated.
I have read that the suppressor just stops interference, so am I OK to carry on using the dishwasher until another suppressor found?
Spent quite a bit of time trying to track down a replacement but can only find similar fit suppressors from the same manufacturer Ellettronic Procond with different specifications, for example with 0.2uf rather than 0.1uf. Will a different spec suppressor be a suitable replacement?

    Thanks

will be fine even if it did not have the supressor

did look up supressor and the chances of getting the correct one from zanussi are slim

If you want to replace it you could fit a univeral one
