ParticipantMy Zanussi DCE 5655 dishwasher started continually pumping. It continues pumping even when I press the on/off button (the light goes out but the pump continues). The pump continues even when I open the door. Switching off at the plug is the only thing that stops it.
All the program button lights in the door have gone out and are unresponsive – they seem to be jammed.
I have cleaned all the filters and taken out what I can to clean in the interior, and cleaned where the waste pipe connects to under my sink – to see if there was anything blocking.
Is this a problem with the door panel, or an indication that I may have water leaking into the bottom tray?

Water leaked onto base and flood protection device activated.

Have you any advice how I get to the bottom panel with this model? Being a small countertop model there is no kick panel.

With the power disconnected, firstly the side panels need unscrewing from the front and unclipping from the back. Then lay the appliance on its back and remove the bottom plate. Access all areas from there. 🙂

Great Martin, thanks. I’d got as far as removing the side/top panels but stumped where to go next. Turning it upside down is my next move. Cheers.

With the water gone from the base the dishwasher is working normally again. Thank you!! 😀
Gotcha Martin – Sorry, I did mean to turn it on its back, not upside down. :eeek:
There was water in the base which I mopped up. I couldn’t see where any leak was coming from. I have cleaned any old residues I could see. Do you recommend a few cleaning cycles with Bicarb or vinegar?
I know table-top dishwashers don’t suit everyone, but I love my litle Zanussi that is perfect for one person, and better than hand washing especially as I don’t have hot running water much of the time. I find it is more efficient than my posh, slim-line Bosch.
If it happens again soon I will have to look further into how water is leaking into the base. Do you have any advice what to look for?
Many thanks!

Look for water drips? 🙂
Leaks are sometimes difficult to pinpoint, your best bet is to let it wash on the highest temperature, and then just sit with it until you see water dripping down.
