Sorry guys, its me yet again 😳
This started making a sort of whistling sound which stopped then started again, now the spray arm is not going round at all. My son has removed and cleaned it but it still wont work so of course the machine is not cleaning, not sure if its still in warranty or not. Can we fix it ourselves or approx cost of having a man that can please.
Thanks.

Hi Lynn.
Sounds like the circulation pump isn’t running – given strange noise this may be some sort of blockage (foreign body in the pump chamber). Access is through the underside of the machine – I can’t offer you much more than that as I haven’t demolished one yet.A local service engineer would charge you for at least an hours work. Rates vary widely across the country, so establish it when you make the appointment to avoid nasty surprises!
Power off if sending in son with screwdriver……
Regards,

Thanks so much Penguin, my son is going to take a look tomorrow, I do hope he can fix it this is not the time of year for expensive repairs or having no dishwasher 😥

Sorry me yet again 😳
To continue this saga, it seems the bearings in the pump have seized up and I have a choice of a new pump at over £106 plus fitting or he can try to put new bearings in at £80. As I’m disabled and only on benefits I wondered if anyone can tell me which is the best option and if the price for the pump is fair, can it be got anywhere cheaper, or even secondhand. I am in Kent if any of you lovely guys can come to my rescue please.

The circulation pump is p/no 1509782-00/7. Last SSP I had was £76.15 + VAT.
Whilst it is possible to strip the motor apart and renew the bearings (they’re generic), this will be a wasted effort if the seals are not renewed – and they are not listed as spare parts……..
If No. 1 son is capable of fitting the pump, I would suggest ordering through spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk – Dave’ll be able to get the pump to you pretty quickly.

Sorry Penguin couldn’t get back sooner, I’ve had virus problems 😥 (blooming Microsoft)
Now son is not sure he can fit the pump, so please can anyone advise how much this is likely to cost, I’m in Kent by the way. Also is there any kind of guarantee on the part and the repair?
Many, many thanks.

This will all depend on the individual repairer, there will be a guarantee generally.
If you check the repairs@ link below, you can discuss the terms and costs directly 😀

😯 😯 😳 😳 Thanks Dave. We could have had it longer then but certainly not that long, any idea approx how long they hang around on the shelf before sale?
I used to work in the motor industry and most people would die if they knew how old their ‘new’ car was 😆

A couple of years or so is not unheard of 😉

Thanks Dave sorry I’m a bit late in replying,(blooming computers 👿 )
Now I’m worried, it can’t be anywhere near as long as that since we bought it, its got to be in the last 3 years, although I’m disabled and have problems with my memory its definitely no longer.
So where on earth has it been since 1994? 😯

I guess it could be 2004 in that case but that seems a bit new ?

Thats about when I thought we bought it, could the pump have seized up because I wasn’t at home using it for some time?
Because of my health I doubt this machine has seen 12 months actual use. -
