Zanussi DE 4554 not working.

Hi

I’ve got a Zanussi DE 4554 slimline dishwasher. Just before Christmas it stopped working, when you selected any of the programmes the “wash” light flashed and there was a loud clicking sound coming from somewhere near the base of the machine. I thought it might be a blockage somewhere and today is the first chance I’ve had to have a look at it. I thought I’d try it one more time before I started to take it apart and was surprised when everything seemed to work fine.

Does anyone have any idea what the initial fault was and whether it will be o.k. to continue to use the machine?

Also… should I tell my wife it fixed itself OR tell her it was a really tricky repair job and I’ve saved us £100 and earn myself some “brownie points”

It sounds like a foreign object was rattling around in the pump impellor.

You may be lucky and it’s washed out but it may return 😉
