The water softener is full of salt but it refuses to work and as a result both the dishes and the inside of the dishwasher are a mess with limescale film
Is there anything I can do to fix it
Is it easy to replace the water Softener unit ……I know it comes complete with a solenoid
I am pretty handy and methodically work through things but do not have testing equipment etc

There is no solenoid on the softener unit. There is a solenoid on the IWMS fill matrix unit, which releases saline through the softener unit. Remove left hand side panel and get the multimeter out to find out what is happening. Solenoids should give you a resistance reading in kOhms.
Power off, first.

Strange that the parts people tell me the replacement water softener unit comes complete with a solenoid
I do not have an ohm testing equipment ………is there any other way to fathom whats wrong
can you expain how i find this part in plain english or is their a photo of the side of the diswasher
