ParticipantThis machine is 16 months old and the water is not being heated, and although the machine goes onto the drying cycle no heat is generated. My last machine had a big heating element that you could see at the bottom, but this model seems to have a concealed unit. Is it easy to change and can you tell me where I could get the part/parts.
regards
Simon

The heating element is the tubular type and is mounted underneath the tub. Assuming that it has failed (you will need to test it), it’s part number 50280071-00/7 and is around the £25 mark plus the p+p & VAT. An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get things moving for you.
Power off please….. :plug:

If it is going through the wash cycle its not the element more like a doggy thermostat if element was faulty machine would stick on wash and not move on, your complaint would be timer sticking best to get it checked as the wise words of penguin45 to be certain

Have double checked on this one – it will complete the programme regardless, although there should be a flashing light or beeper at the end to indicate the fault. The number equates to a code.

Hi
Sorry for not replying before, but I have been away. Firstly I must thank you for being such a friendly and helpful site.
Tried your repair button but there are no engineers for DT5 2DH. From reading the replies I used the machine again. It goes through all the cyles (wash, dry and end) and the leds light up, but there is no beep or flash code when the end led lights up.
I have phoned local people, waited in, and no one has come. I would imagine the simplest and easiest thing for me to do is to buy a new thermostat, and if its not that I’ll have a spare.
Although I am not a white goods engineer I work in the computing industry and am competent working with electricity (I have re-wired part of my house and had it checked by an electrician).
Where is the thermostat located, is it easy to change and where can I get one?
many thank, and keep up the good work
Simon
