ParticipantI have an old Zanussi dishwasher that just generated an AL3 error code. From reading the forums it’s likely to be the PCB. Any idea how much this is likely to cost / BER ?

Thanks Seamy. I’ve successfully fitted the part but I’m not getting the water to heat up and the error code is still present. Any thoughts ?

Heater perhaps, just goes to show that its better to have an engineer look at it to determine what is the actual problem rather than throw parts at it. Is there water leaked into base perhaps?

We did via http://www.zanussi.co.uk/support/service-centres/. They wouldn’t fix it as it’s out of warranty so they passed me to Respond Services Ltd in Chelmsford. One of their engineers came out and on the form it says:-
No supply to heater during wash. Test temperature sensor & heater ok. Found IWMS tank blocked causing intermittent filling & wash. PCB required but obsolete.
They also said that the part, if not obsolete, would be £183.33 + vat. Given that they couldn’t do anything (they couldn’t get the part) I came here…..
I’m thinking about the IWMS tank. What is it, where is it and how easy is it to clean ?

Don’t they do chargeable calls ??

IWMS Tank you refer to is the water metering tank, normally mounted at one side of a dishwasher, not too easy to clean.

OK thanks. Is there a service manual available anywhere. I have the Haynes book but was looking for something specific.
Per your earlier comment I’m going to take a look at the heater element.

There is a service manual but if you look at the forum rules for here we can’t give out technical data to the general public.
