Zanussi DE6965 AL6 error code! Machine not draining.

The machine stops with this error code. I have checked all the obvious things :- blockages etc. Stripped the inner filter out and removed a housing and removed some food debris. Checked the pump and it is working fine. No other obstruction I can see.

You haven’t mentioned whether or not it does actually drain the water out…….

Yes, the machine pumps the water out perfectly. The pump is performing fine. I wonder whether it is a sensor for anti flooding? After the machine has done a wash it then drains ok as you can see and hear the water being pumped out and before it refills it will display an AL6 (machine is not draining).

Problem will be in the water level control department then. It thinks it’s still full. Standartd fault is the fill matrix on the left hand side sludging up.

No it won’t, dna. This model uses two different IWMS manifolds, depending on the pnc number, neither of which is the part number you have quoted.

PENGUIN this isnt the part number of the iwms its the part number for a modification kit which does cure the problem it adds a new pressure switch and a double valve. the pressure switch acts as an overfill pressure switch and the double valve well its a double valve i am a member of the trade part actullay just thought i was helping SORRY!!!!!!!

And yes penguin this will cure the prblem even if the iwms is sludged up. have done at least 100 of the kits and it works every time, thank you.

I removed the IWMS and flushed it through with a hosepipe and unblocked the sludge from within the galleries, checked the pressure switches and re-assembled the IWMS into the machine. Everything working as it should do 😀 .
