Can someone help? The dishwasher packed up giving AL5. Seems to drain OK but appears not to be drawing water from the supply (supply is fine). I’m guessing its the pump … how do I confirm that and where can I get a spare?

Already fed up with dishwashing by hand, speedy response appreciated.

There is no pump as such to draw water in, it’s a valve. It’s very unlikely to be the valve though.

You would be better off getting an engineer to diagnose the fault properly for you, speedier and will in the long run save you money by fitting the required part rather than stabbing in the dark.

If you pop your postcode here or check the directory on the left menu there will be someone here who can help.

    Regards.

    Dave.

    JMW,

Most likely your machine has either a internal leak or the water block on the water inlet valve has tripped. Unplug the machine from the electricity supply firstly. Turn off the water supply, disconnect the inlet hose to the machine then reconnect and turn on again. ‘Reset’ the programme and try running it again. If that fails, switch off the power once again, pull the machine forward slightly and tip it backwards against the wall to drain off what may well be a flooded bottom tray? Try it again and let us know the outcome?

Could be the IWMS, (integrated water management system).

If you could post the product number & serial number off the appliance we can give you a better idea. There are a few modifications on this model, depending on age etc. and it may be prudent to contact your local Service Force. Either Fleet or Thatcham.

From the serial number it looks like the machine is less than 2 years old.

There is a chance the IWMS is needed and there is an upgraded inlet valve system as well which compliments the repair.

Not a cheap job though and time consuming, bearing in mind the relative newness of the D/W may be an Idea to speak to the manufacturers and see if they will meet you part way towards the repair cost. 08705-727-727 Option 3.

Your local service centre incidentally is A1 Technical of Reform Rd. Maidenhead 01628-783711

Does anyone have the part number of the “upgraded” inlet valve mentioned here. I’m not convinced that all these IWMS replacements mentioned in numerous postings are absolutely necessary. The IWMS seems only to be a plastic moulding with a couple of solenoids. What can go wrong with it! I’ve had three replaced and still not had the fault cured permenantly. Not had the valve swapped though.

It sludges up at the bottom – that’s what goes wrong with it. As a consequence water which should flow into the tub is backed up through the safety sytem and shuts down the fill valve. The solenoids are to allow water to be flushed through the water softener regeneration unit. All in all, its probably the most critical component in thge appliance.

You would require two modifications to “solve” this problem. If the IWMS has two valves you would need part No’s 50271495009 & 50275890007
