Model ZNB 3440. Got to replace the element on this F/F. Its the ally type that snakes its way across the evaporator fitting into the fins. The evaporator is the type that is fitted to the ceiling of the freezer. Ive not had to do one of these before. Looking at it, i cant see how the old one comes away, it looks very fiddly. Any advise would be much appreciated.

Done this one today. In case anyones interested, heres my advise. First of all, although it looks very fiddly, rest assured, it is VERY VERY fiddly. Wear 2 pairs of rubber gloves and have some plasters ready. After removing plastic casing to access evaporator use telescopic mirror to see heater connection plug at back of freezer and unplug. Note position of heater then remove from evaporator avoiding cuts from razor sharp fins. Replace with new heater, clipping back into position again avoiding too many cuts from razor sharp fins. Oh and by the way, dont worry too much about bending and squashing all the fins as you clip the new heater home, (its the only way you’ll get it clipped in). Be very careful while doing this, not to kink the evaporator return pipe or capillary as these are the only things holding the evaporator up while your wrestling with it. Be careful also not to cut the heater wires on the sharp fins too. Put back casing, wash blood from hands, apply plasters. Job done! Doddle! 😆
