Zanussi dishwasher

Hi – after nearly 10 years of exceptional hard work my Zanussi has turned on me!
When I turn it on, its showing the cycle time as about double the usual amount of minutes. I switched it on before work, came home at 5pm and the dishes were still dirty!

The water doesn’t seem to drain properly – I’ve cleaned the filter in the bottom. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!

Is it heating? Programme hangs until temperature is reached.

First of all from what you say I suspect you haven’t been topping up the salt quite as regularly as you should? Because from the symptoms, I would suspect it is crudded up inside and needs first of all a good clean with a dishwasher cleaning tablet (or solution), topping up fully with dishwasher salt and if that fails, to get a local engineer in to clean and service it 😉

There is still plenty of salt in the dispenser, and the little S hasn’t come up for a while!
I guess I’ll try the engineer 🙂
