I had A Zanussu ZD684 dishwasher that kept breaking down in that it would not fill with water. Engineer replaced the “matrix” water management panel on three occasions. Each time the d/w would work for a while then it had the same problem. In the end even a new panel would not fix it. Supplier gave me a new dishwasher to keep me happy. I got a brand new ZDI6041 – almost the same as the original model.
Two years later, same fault. Took it to bits, discovered that after the first fill of water, the inlet valve will not let any more water in unless you turn the power off then on. Inside the inlet valve, there is a plunger held by a magnet, then released using air pressure from the matrix panel. I dismantled the valve assembly and rebuilt it using parts from the old dishwasher (I kept it just in case – sad or what!). Seems the magnet in the old unit is stronger than that in new one. Now the dishwasher works for 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time. I’m going to order a new valve assembly to see if that completely fixes it!
