Zanussi does not spin

Hi,
My Zanussi ZWF16070W1 does not spin. The cycle starts, fills but does not spin. It will drain once I reset it to the drain function. I have checked and emptied the filter + emptied the drainage hose that was full of all sorts-coins, paper clips and hair pins. The pump impeller winds and returns back to its starting position. But the problem persists.

I have searched on line for carbon brush replacement for the product number (914521482 00) as the machine is 15 years old but cannot seem to find them. Even the Zanussi website help search is non specific and a spare parts search comes up blank.

The drive belt is intact.

any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the response Dave. I have since been advised that the motor is kaput and a replacement will cost half the price of a replacement machine. Given that the machine is old and smaller than we now need, have recycled it and waiting delivery of a new one.
