Participantis it more vibration?
the fans usually the cause of noise on zanussi dryers
the bearing can be inspected at the bac, just remove the access plate

ParticipantRe: zanussi dryer drum nosie
Ok we have found the problem !!! took the rear cover plate off , the drum spindle come out at the rear here, it is loose ( you can push it up and down ) took off sur clip and washer then took off round plate which should hold the spindle in place with sur clip, plate cracked and worn no where to hold spindle in place, hence drum wobbling about, also spindle of drum badly worn where it has been wobling about, can it be fixed, new plate to hold spindle or is it the end ??
thanksApril 18, 2009 at 1:00 pm #282933redwan

If it happens again re-fit using a small drop of studlock fluid, available from all good carparts stores.

Hi
I had a similar problem. The dryer was making a loud noise that got louder and louder. I found the fan wheel was rubbing away the plastic because it was out of line. I fitted a new fan wheel, tightly, and all was quiet….heaven!
After a short while, the same noise started and is getting worse. The motor spindle that the fan fits on is slack, so drops, making it out of line. As there is not much room between the housing and spindle, I used tinfoil to even it out (strange, I know) but it worked!
It started the noise again after a while and is getting worse. Although I know what’s happening, I’m not sure what to do to permanently solve it. I would very much appreciate any ideas that could possibly help me to fix it. I suffer depression and the noise is so distressing, making me worse. I also cannot afford to get someone in to fix it.
Many thanks in advance!
