Zanussi dryer -ZDC47209W – Shuddering then stops

I thought this was a classic capacitor problem, fitted an 8uf, it then worked fine for me while at the house…….. worked once for the cx before doing the same thing – It shudders soon after starting then goes dead, moving the drum by hand doesn’t help and the wires going to the pcb are good.

Might this be the motor or pcb?

when you say dead is that complete power failure , no lights at all

Yes, if I turn it to zero then select another setting it goes for a short time and repeats the same fault

check the pcb for poss bad joints
