ParticipantHi,
I have a Zanussi DW 925 that’s about 10 years old. The top basket wheels and runner supports have almost disintegrated and to replace the lot is circa 40 quid. The machine works ok although it now does always say that salt needs to be added. Is it worth the 40 quid or should I buy the Bosch from the recommended list?
Thanks
Roger

Excellent machine, and very good at what it does.
Take a look at the fascia, are there any cracks along the top?
Have you ever had new hinges?
Are the top rail runners (wheels screwed on the cabinet inner) in good condition?
If you have had hinges, top rail runners are o.k. and the fascia is intact, you may as well buy the wheels, or even consider new baskets complete, sometimes can work out cheaper.
I still regret getting rid of mine, but all the above things were needed.

Alex,
thanks for the reply, current state of machine is;
Top facia is a little cracked
Not had hinges
Top rail runners pop off and were in my 40 repair estimate.
What do you think?
Thanks

Maybe then it is time! But as they used to say on Blind Date, “The decision is yours”

Thanks for your help Alex, have decided to replace it with the Bosch SG46E22GB machine in the recommendations here.

My mother had a DW925 for between five and six years, and it had useful programmes, namely the SID 70 degree intensive programme. Unfortunately, the build quality was atrocious: door springs went, wheels fell off, cutlery basket fell apart, and finally, a whole corner of the control panel cracked and fell off, exposing sharp edges and internal wiring.
Bosch models are better built, and much quieter.

My DW925 is just over 14 years old. It’s has new door springs, spray arm, spray nozzles, basket wheels and cutlery basket. The fascia is cracked, the programme control knob no longer lines up with the indicator line, and now it’s leaking from the bottom door seal and possibly also somewhere inside as well.
I think it’s time it was put out of my misery 😀
I’m considering the ISE5 Dishwasher; my local agent says their engineers are very impressed with it, and they have had no problems at all with the ISE5 washing machines they’ve sold.
I did notice that UKwhitegoods said in July 2007 (over a year on, isn’t it about time this was updated?) that the ISE10 was due out by now. Did this become the ISE5 or is there still an ISE10 around the corner ❓

ISE5 dishwasher has been recently introduced, and very nice it is too. An ISE10 dishwasher is on the cards for next year.
