Sometimes, but not every time, the dial stops part way thru the cycle. When this happens, machine will only resume if the dial is advanced manually not just one or two clicks, it has to be turned much further round before operation will resume. I have been told that the sump needs descaling and quoted £70 for doing it. Is this diagnosis likely to be correct, and how may I do the work myself? Or if not correct – any other ideas…. thanks guys….P.S. I know its old and some would say I should dump it! I love fixing things and love to understand what is wrong with things…and anyway it has been well looked after….RW
