ParticipantI’m not having much luck finding a replacement heating element for a Zanussi DW907 dishwasher. Does anyone know a good source for this part ?
thanks

ParticipantHi, sorry for delay in replying.
The numbers on the dw are
Product no 91181036
Type 91181-1A
The main reason to suspect the element is the machine is not heating up and is cold at the end of a cycle.
Today I did a quick check on the element and it is not open circuit, though i didn’t have my ohmmeter handy to check actual resistance. I’ll do that later this week. But maybe not that then. I presume there is a thermostat that measures water temp to cut off the heater when temp has been reached, so this could be faulty ?

Moderatorok if the element is ok
you need to check both thermostats
then the wiring from the timerif all that is ok its most likley a timer contact failure

ParticipantHi Dave,
I popped around and measured the element at 21.9 ohms which looks about correct for a 2.5kW element.
BTW the pnc I quoted above was missing a digit it’s 91186103600.I took out the thermostat that is clipped to the steel bottom of the dishwasher washing chamber next to the heating element, and that shows a short at room temp, and opens if I put the metal case in hot water so that looks to be working fine. I couldn’t spot a second thermostat though ? Where might this be ?

ParticipantHi Dave,
As you predicted the other thermostat was in the door. I removed this, tested it and that worked too. So I put everything back together and decided to try the dw out, and it seems to be working fine now. I’ve got no explanation for that unless there was a dodgy contact that is now working. We’ll keep an eye on it and see how it goes.
Thanks for the tips !
Regards
