ParticipantHiyas,
Stumped on this one. (Mind you, doesn’t take a lot to confuse me). 😳
Customer complaining timer doesn’t move on. Water is being heated ok. Timer, heater, heater stats and stats? in door have all been changed. Wiring loom is ok too. Is there something else that I’m missing?
Any help, as always, is greatly appreciated.Brian

Could be the little stat underneath screwed to the tub, or possibly heater failing to earth as it heats up, check with a thermometer to see if it reaches 65C.

Had similar thoughts about the heater so changed it out, no problems with it.
Also changed the screw in stat along with the other one under the tub. Water gets hot enough to produce steam, maybe too hot?
The two in the door were supposedly changed by another engineer but can’t say for certain that they were.
Spent ages this morning metering the wiring and checking for breakages but all appears ok.
Still stumped 😕Brian

Have you checked for sure that the top arm is turning and not blocked or jammed? Often the door stats depend on this to read the temperature. common prob on SMeg and Miele.

Good one. No I have to admit I didn’t check the top spray arm. I’ve ordered new door stats so I’ll check the spray arms when I return.
Any more hints? 😛
Ta for the input lads.Brian

Is the top arm plastic or metal, the early ones came with metal top arms & were prone to not turning so they changed ’em to plastic with a wider grommet on the feed pipe connector at the back of the basket normally on these it just causes poor wash results in top basket never came across any that overheated beacause of it. Still reckon its worth a temperature test, if it heats much above 70c then its probably a door stat, try pressing the 55c option button also. Hope this lot helps.

Ta for that. D/W isn’t actually overheating, just won’t step on.
I’ll check out the spray arm issue, sounds right to me.Brian
