Zanussi Error Codes

Hi. I have a Zanussi ZWF 1621W washing machine. It stopped working yesterday. The drum was not turning. I disconnected it and took the back off to check the band. The motor, band and drum was turning on spin program. I put it all back, reconnected the cold water and tried it again. The drum did not spin. Took it out again and took the back off. This time the motor did not spin. Found out how to get the error codes on the non digital display. I get two flashes on the Start and End LEDs and then 6 flashes on the End LED. Can anyone tell me what this indicates. Thank you.

not sure if you have read the fault codes correctly

fault 26 does not exist and 62 is an overheat

suggest you check carbon brushes on the motor as your saying the drum is not turning on a programme

Thank you for your reply. I checked the flashing sequence several times and I’m sure I described them as they were. The motor was turning the drum yesterday after I got it out from under the worktop and took the back off to check the band. Could the brushes causes an intermitant fault? As the bearings sound a bit rough too on the drum, maybe it’s time for a new machine.

not unusual, When I test for brush problems i often give them a firm wap with a screwdriver to make them nudge out a bit. then try the machine to see if it turns. if yes i know i need to change them. If no i have to check them by hand
