Zanussi F/F – Mod – ZX56/4 W

I fitted a VT9 stat to a Zannussi fridge freezer Mod – ZX56/4W
after about 1 month the customer complained that the fridge was warm, freezer very cold and the compressor running non stop.
Asked customer to defrost freezer and then retry.
2 weeks later customer rang back with same fault.

I have checked the defrost timer, elements all work ok.

Should I look at fitting a different stat or an adjustable defrost timer?

Any advice gratefully recieved.

The most common fault is in the freezer if both defrost heaters have been working, it is usually the main one that fails or the timer. at the bottom of the evap at the back are three vent holes for cold air up to fridge if the customer did not leave off long enough it needs 24 hours door open or a steamer to clear them. Steamer takes about 5 mins. If this blocks in two weeks the defrost is not working
Stat I don’t use the VT9 in this unit only Zan 2262199116.
