Our Zanussi FJ1093 seems to be working fine. All the parts of the cycle complete and the clothes do get washed BUT they come out sopping wet despite the spin dry.

When spun again they do seem a bit drier but not perfect. The machine isn’t leaking anywhere. The drum may be getting a bit noisy; bearings?

where would I start looking at this problem as there seem several possibilities. Could a level switch have broken? Might it be blocked drain pipes? Is the drum slowing and thus not spinning effectively?

Any hints before I take it apart would be welcome.

    Thanks.

    Robert.

    The fluff filter? That’s fine.

IF the filter is clear then start the machine up on a rinse with no clothing in once it is full stop the machine and put it onto a drain or spin program the drum should be totally empty in less than a minute if it is not then your machine has a blockage somwhere restricting the water.
so when you spin a second time it has more time to drain away water and spin correctly.

Well, 50 seconds for the water to drain but the pump didn’t stop for a minute and a half. I suppose it could be a moving blockage that didn’t affect it this time?

First of all, make sure that there is no ‘Slow spin’ button pushed in. This would give poor spin efficiency.

Secondly, maybe the motor carbon brushes are worn; they sometimes allow wash action to carry out okay, but cannot maintain sufficient contact during spinning. This would give poor spin efficiency.
