    I’ve just read Dave’s November 2004 posting on having to slam the door to get his machine to work & suggestions that it’s the door interlock. I have same problem & wonder if there’s such a thing as a Manual for the machine. Not how to use it, but how to replace bits, or at least where they are with pictures/drawings.
    Can anyone direct me to where this information might be downloaded please.

    You’ll not get a manual. An interlock isn’t too dear, but if you’re tight (like me), have a go at fixing your old one. Now this procedure applies to my old 918T, but I believe it’s the same (or at least a very similar) interlock. Pull it out (after first removing the mains plug; standard warning…) and check for wear on it’s slide-plate where the latch engages with it. Release the outer ring of the doorseal then the two screws at the latch to free it.
    A bit of judicious tweaking with a pair of pliers (to overcome the wear) should get you latching neatly again. You’ll see how the plate must be in exactly the right place for the little plastic interlock to pop out through the hole, and so which way to adjust the tabs that the latch slides into.
    If not, well, at least you know how to fit the new one!

    /standard disclaimer again. It worked for me, can’t guarantee it’ll work for you, but for gawds sake pull the mains plug out before starting…

    NO, NO, NO!

    The old 918T lock worked on an entirely different principle, all this is likely to achieve is jamming the door in the closed position.

    The lock assembly should be replaced. It is part number 1240348-20/7 at £27.71 + VAT – an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.com will soon get it sorted out.
