ZANUSSI FJ1216 RUNS FOR ABOUT 4 SECONDS?????

I HAVE A ZANUSSI FJ1216W WHICH APPEARED DEAD,BY-PASSED THE DOOR LOCK AND IT SEEMED TO BURST BACK INTO LIFE,CHANGED THE INTERLOCK/DELAY MECHANISM BUT NOW APPLIANCE ONLY RUNS WITH PUMP TURNING FOR AROUND 3 TO 4 SECONDS THEN START LIGHT FLASHES AND MACHINE DEAD.ALL COMPOPNENTS APPEAR FINE ,BOARDS ETC ANY IDEAS ANYONE AS I HAVE NOT COME ACROSS THIS ONE BEFORE ??

check motor or brushes there is a similar fault
on the whirlpool machines

Hello mr moderator , I have Zanussi fl or fj1216w written down here,not on site but appliance is only about 18 months old if thats any use.
It has a delay device as well as an interlock.
Will check the motor as previously suggested on here although at a quick glance it looked ok

It’s an FLE1216W 😉

As this is an electronic controlled unit, the lights flashing will be in some sort of sequence indicating a fault code, if you let us know that otherwise we can’t help much further to be honest.

Double check the model number as well but that’s the only one I can find with 1216 in it.

Cheers for that Dave the lights that flash are the ones far right of the console which indicate the wash progress.All are lit and static bar the very top led,also the door loked led stays static whilst the appliance initially powers up then flashes and releases the interlock 👿

OK, going back to the lights on the right, there’s eight there, so seven of them are on all the time (all except the top one) ?

If it’s the lower bank of four (half of the aforemenioned eight) and the lowest three are on then it’s a main PCB fault I’m afraid.

Cheers for that Dave , further up somebody posted that there could be a brush problem .
Before I call in the funeral directors I will give that a closer look at i reckon .
After that then we are going down the AMDEA and “fit for the purposes ” type of argument with the manufacturers afterall the appliance is used twice a week and is only 16 months old!!
