Zanussi fj1295 drum not spinning?

If a program is started, machine takes in water OK but when a spin cycle is needed the drum starts to run up to speed for about 2 seconds then stops and the program switch advances.
The switch seems to be moving faster than normal as well
On advice from a friend, the control board was changed but made no difference. Anybody have any ideas.

The symptoms differ slightly but it’s almost certainly the same problem, these machines react in different ways depending on the type of control unit used.

Thanks for the pointer.
I’ll check out the tacho magnet and se if that’s the problem. I’m assuming it’s the same construction as the other machine, is that true ?
