Zanussi FJDR 1466 W – E52 code – how to remove the motor

Hi,
Our Zanussi FJDR 1466 W washing m/c will not spin during any cycle, the error code given is E52 which I’ve read could be down to the motor brushes.
I’d like to take a closer look at the brushes, however, removing the motor seems impossible unless the drum and majority of parts are removed first.
The motor is located at the base of the m/c; you can get to it from the underside, however, you cannot access the mounting screws from here, therefore the motor can’t be removed from this access point!
There is no access hatch on the back side, if there was you would be able to get to the screws.

Is this a design flaw or am I missing something?? How do you remove the motor??

You need to split the cabinet itself (not a big job) The cabinet has a centre split down each side at the bottom of the split is a round plastic cover flick this off and remove the exposed screw with an 8mm socket then at the back of the cabinet at the bottom are 2 or 3 other screws then remove lid and at the top by the suspension springs are two other screws either side . remove inlet hose and the plastic piece the valve goes through you can flick up then pull the cabinet halves apart (dont worry it wont all collapse !!!) the motor is the held with four 8mm bolts
