    While taking apart a Zanussi tub I lost the washer that is used to go onto the metal thread on the tub, behind the pulley to keep the earth wire there. I remember it was grooved and is probably some kind of an anti-vibration washer, but I don’t know the proper term for it.

    I have been on ebay but can’t find anything similar. I still have the nut which is also grooved at the back so don’t want to buy something random and find it is the wrong washer. I have already tried the Zanussi spares site which doesn’t tell me anything.

    It’s called a shakeproof washer. Not imperative, you can use a spring washer or for that matter an ordinary washer. As long as the nut is on tight…no worries!
