Zanussi FJS 1425W pump

My Zanussi washing machine (FJS1425W) is giving error code E20 and, as the water isn’t draining out, I’m guessing that it’s the pump.
I had a friend look at it and he said that it was a sealed unit.
Is it possible to replace the pump yourself? I know that they are for sale on this site.

There are 2 pumps on this machine, the drain one is the one near the front of the machine. To remove it (unplug from mains first!) you ideally would remove the rear half cabinet but you can just about manage by just tipping the machine forward at an angle and looking underneath. Unplug the pump wires, wedge a large flat blade screwdriver under the edge of the filter housing near the pump and you should now be able to slide out the pump, which is on keyway rails. It’s worth taking the pump off and removing the cover before buying a new pump as often there is just a nail or rubber band etc jamming it.

He’s replaced the pump (there was nothing jammed in it) but now the machine is giving error code E90. What do we do?

oh dear
e90 is non communication between pcb’s

could just be a bad connection between the blue ribbon between pcb’s!!

check connections there (with plug out), theyre at the top of the machine

try it again, jst hope it doesnt need a new pcb!

The thing is, the error code came up as soon as we switched the machine on after replacing the pump.

Is the pcb not recognising the new pump or has something possibly got dislodged when fitting the new pump. Is it a manufacturer ‘trick’ to stop diy repairs?

The pump was bought from this site and is for this model of machine.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

did he lie it on its side?
could just be wet, i suppose
its not likely to be with the pump
