ParticipantA customer has had the belt come off and damage the plastic case that protects the module wires. Zanussi have advised that they no longer make the part and that it is completely unsafe to use the machine without this modular case (because the machine could ‘short-out’)
It’s a Zanussi JetStream 1250, model:FJS1397W, type P6297705, prod. 91478751801
The part no 1249047000 and Wash Vac show it as a special order but of course Zanussi won’t have one. Is there any possiblity of getting one from somewhere? Even a second hand one? Or maybe the recon module guys could help?
My instict is to advise to just cover with plastic bag but then I realise it may need air to circulate for cooling.
Zanussi have advised them to scrap the machine!

I may have a second hand one Andy.
Any chance of a picture or dimensions ?
By the way, it’s actually obsolete from Electrolux so there’s little point in trying to order an new one from anywhere 🙁 I believe the reason is the new module comes with a new case and it’s a different type/size.
Dave.

I think if anyone here were called to repair that machine, it would be repaired ❗ we all have a bit of plastic water protection lying around our vans dont we + a few tie wraps. I cannot believe a machine could be written off for the sake of that piece.

I thought we’d all have a scrapper Zannusi lying around in the washer graveyard, or a module and cover lying in a pile of second-hand modules. 😉
Or is it just me that stores up piles of (mainly) useless junk?
In my basement in must have 50 or 60 complete second-hand tubs, ranging from WMA’s to 20 year old AEG’s with cast-iron weights!

It’s not big at all, it’s just very full! 😉
In fact if you wanna find something, you’ll die under an avalanche of drums. I keep finding excuses not to clear it out, but when I do, the scrap-man will be very happy.
