Can you please help, I have chance of buying this Zanussi wahing Machine FJS139W, but the seller has told me it needs a hot and cold water supply for it to operate, I only have a cold supply, will it not work on just cold??

    Hi,

It will work fine but you will need a Y-piece which allows you to connect two hoses to one supply. Most eBay ones are flimsy and leak after a while but Bosch make a good one, part number 050871. Email spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk if you want to order one.

Without a Y-piece machine will probably not do 60C+ cycles, and may leak out the unconnected hot valve.

Suspect it needs supplies to both inputs( but it’s got a heater ,so it would heat cold up to temp) .I’ve forgotten to switch on hot at times and had funny results .Can’t speak highly enough of ours -almost a teenager now and apart from a couple of pump motors and a blocked pressure sensor it’s been a well used reliable machine . It can suffer from algae build-up in the powder tray( black organisms cured with Milton) and does benefit from a purge ( we use Asda machineclean ,or something to that name-think it’s called Dr beck or similar ) on a regular basis .DON’T forget to clean out the filter ( bottom front of MC ) on a regular basis .-oh and make sure it’s set level – otherwise it will dance across floor .Good luck .

    Hi,

This is a better idea, it does away with the Y adaptor which is prone to leaking. And a bargain at £6.99.
