    Zanussi FL-1084

Ok managed to get module out… Previous engineer had superglued it in as it was rattling !
All looks ok, but noticed that the tacho coil was loose, took it out and all the insides have been worn right down and exposed the copper coil… I guess being loose it has been chewed up by the magnet?

Are these available as a spare?

Machine now does spin for around 5 seconds, at a time

    Update:

Tacho arrived this morning, fitted to machine and it runs like a dream again..

Lady owner very happy she didn’t have to part with her lovely zanussi!

Thanks to all who helped me on this

That was a tough one, Muv. That (quite common) fault of loose tacho normally gives a symptom of instant spin on all timer positions in which the motor is required to move. You’ll come across it again in due course I’m sure. Or then again maybe not. It used to happen on Hoover and Zanussi a lot but I’ve not seen it yet on later models. Maybe they’ve cured the (normally) easy faults like that and all we get left with is the difficult to diagnose pcb burn ups 😥 .
    Mike.
